DAFINONE APPOINTED AS CHAIRMAN INSTITUTE OF CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS ENGLAND AND WALES

The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales( ICAEW) has appointed Mr. Ede Dafinone as Chair of its Africa Members Advisory Board.

Mr. Dafinone took over from Daniel Ndonye (Kenya) who has retired, the appointment took effect from July 17th, 2019.

Mr. Dafinone who since 2019 has served ICAEW council as member representing Africa is an accomplish business leader and experience board member both public and private sector.

Michael Armstrong ICAEW RegionalDiirector for the Middle East, Africa and South Asia has this to say of Mr. Dafinone,”we are confident that he will add great value to our Africa members Advisory Board, considering his experienced in multiple industries, ICAEW will benefit from his insight, judgment and counsel.”

Speaking on his appointment, Mr. Dafinone said that he is eager to offer his insight while growing ICAEW profile for the continent, adding, “ I look forward to bringing together the strengths of our members across Africa to support ICAEW vision of strong global economics”.

The ICAEW Africa Members Advisory board (MAB) is a volunteer advisory board whose primary aim is to advice, guide and support the ICAEW Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA) regional director and Africa team to implement ICAEW international strategy.

They are over 1.8million chartered accountants and students around the world,and Africa chartered accountants make up considerable portion of ICAEW membership. ICAEW trains, develop and support each one of then so that they have knowledge and values to help build local and global economics that are sustainable, accountable and fair.

In addition to serving as chair, Mr. Dafinone has been on the Africa MAB (Representing Nigeria) since it’s inception in 2016. He is currently the deputy managing partner of Crowe Dafinone (Chartered Accountant) based in Lagos, Nigeria.

He started his career with Toucheross and Co in London 1984 and join
his family firm 1989. In 2000 the Dafinone family where recognize by
Guiness World record for holding a record number of Chartered
Accountants in one family (6) who all qualified as member of the
institute of Chartered accountant in England and Wales. The late
patriarch of the family and founder of the family’s firm David
Dafinone became a member of the institute 1963.
