NUJ Celebrates Ovie of Idjerhe at 60, Marks 5th Coronation Anniversary

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Warri Correspondents’ Chapel, has congratulated the Ovie of Idjerhe Kingdom, His Majesty King Monday Obukowho Whiskey, Udurhe I, as he marks his 5th coronation anniversary alongside his 60th birthday.
In a statement jointly signed by the Chairman of the Chapel, Mr. Victor Okpomor, and the Secretary, Mr. Edeki Igafe, the union described the monarch’s reign over the past five years as impactful, peaceful, and development-driven.
According to the NUJ, the reign of King Whiskey has ushered in immeasurable peace, unity, and progress within Idjerhe Kingdom, noting that the positive influence of his leadership has extended beyond the kingdom to other parts of Delta State and beyond.
The Chapel also commended the Ovie for his consistent support, moral encouragement, and invaluable advice to the Warri Correspondents’ Chapel, stressing that such gestures have further strengthened the bond between the traditional institution and the media.
“As His Majesty celebrates his 5th coronation anniversary, which coincides with his 60th birthday, we pray that God Almighty grants him continued wisdom, knowledge, and strength to govern his people and elevate Idjerhe Kingdom to greater heights,” the statement read.
The NUJ wished the monarch continued good health, success, and a more impactful reign, expressing optimism that his leadership would continue to bring lasting blessings and development to Idjerhe Kingdom.
The statement concluded with warm congratulations to the revered traditional ruler and prayers for sustained peace and prosperity in the kingdom.
