The Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) has delivered judgement on the petition filed by Atiku Abubakar and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) challenging the victory of President Bola Tinubu.

PEPT in its ruling on Wednesday held that while the petituoners claimed that Tinubu did not meet constitutional threshold to have contested the election, they failed stated what the required qualification was.

Justice Moses Ego dismissed Atiku’s motion alleging dual citizenship and drug conviction against President Bola Tinubu.

He upheld the objections of the APC and Tinubu that the Atiku and PDP could not smuggle new issues not pleaded in their petition on the grounds of non- qualification.

The court also struck out some paragraphs where the petitioners accused Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State and one Friday Adejo (described as a Local Government Chairman in Kogi State), but failed to join them as parties to the petition.

It equally struck out some other paragraphs where it found that the petitioners made vague allegations of irregularities and malpractices.
