Oborevwori Hails Olomu Monarch on Emergence as Body of Benchers Chairman

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has congratulated the Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom, Albert Akpomudje, on his emergence as the 54th Chairman of the Body of Benchers.
Akpomudje, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), succeeded former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Olukayode Ariwoola, to assume leadership of the apex regulatory institution for the legal profession in the country.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, Governor Oborevwori described the monarch’s elevation as a moment of pride and honour for Delta State and its people.
> “On behalf of my family, the government and the good people of Delta State, I heartily congratulate the Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom… on his emergence as the 54th Chairman of the Nigerian Body of Benchers,” the governor said.
He commended Akpomudje’s distinguished career in the legal profession, expressing confidence that his vast experience would strengthen the integrity, discipline, and standards of the legal system in Nigeria.
The governor noted that Deltans are delighted by the recognition accorded the revered traditional ruler and legal luminary, adding that his appointment reflects his professional excellence and leadership capacity.
The Body of Benchers, established under the Legal Practitioners Act, serves as the highest regulatory authority for legal practitioners in Nigeria.
Akpomudje, who is the 14th Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom, was crowned on November 15, 2025, and his emergence as chairman of the prestigious body has been widely applauded across the legal and traditional institutions.
