Covid-19: Tidi commissions disinfecting tunnel donated to Delta market by Hypo
Warri South Chairman, Dr Micheal Tidi on Monday commissioned a disinfecting tunnel built by the management of Hypo Homecare Products Limited and donated to Igbudu market.
The Warri South Chairman commended the management of Hypo for the kind gesture amd advised market women and men coming to the market to take advantage of the tunnel and prevent themselves from contracting the Coronavirus.
“This hygiene tunnel encourages us to prevent ourselves from the dreaded COVID-19. The most important thing for us now is prevention because the Coronavirus disease is real and we must do everything we can to make sure that the virus does not spread.
“I want to thank the management of Hypo for building this disinfecting tunnel for the benefit of the general public. I am not only here to commission this project, I am also here to tell you that the government and people of Warri South council are indeed very grateful for this your kind gesture.
“The importance of this tunnel cannot be overemphasized because it is better to stay safe than to be in an isolation center. Those who have gone through that road can tell you that it is not a good experience,” Tidi said.
Earlier, Mr. Festus Oroh, the South South Area Marketing Manager, Hypo Homecare Products Limited, said that the gesture was part of the company’s effort to help the state government in it’s fight against the spread of COVID-19.
He said that the tunnel will be placed at the entrance of the market to help everyone going into the market to disinfect themselves before they enter the market.
“We want to thank the Warri South council chairman for giving us the approval to install this hydro hygiene tunnel in Igbudu market. We also want to thank him for his cooperation so far and we want to assure him that we will continue to work together for the progress of the council.
“We have completed the tunnel and now people can use it to to disinfect themselves from contracting the Coronavirus disease because we all know that the virus has been ravaging the whole world, Oroh said.
Explaining how the tunnel works, Oroh said anyone that enters the tunnel will stay there for twenty seconds after which he comes out and washes his hands and he is completely disinfected.
