Bayelsa Government calls for reverse of dis-accreditation of faculties

The government of Bayelsa State has called for the reverse of the dis-accreditation of some faculties in the Niger Delta University, Amassoma, by the National University Accreditation Council.
The Commissioner of Education, Hon. Salo Adikumo, who made this call while he was speaking with newsmen in Yenagoa, noted that the present administration has contributed enough resources and personnel to set standard structures and materials to boost the academic performance of the University.
He said that a new dean has been appointed to head the faculty of law. He also said that the abandoned library project would be complete and equipped with materials adding that government has approved the procurement of law books and other equipments to upgrade the faculty.
He stated that the faculty of Mathematics, Geology and Computer Science Departments will be built to standard adding that funds have been approved for the building of Petroleum and Marine Engineering Departments.
Hon. Salo Adikumo also said that Micro Biology and Pharmacy Departments will have standard structures while books and journals, as well as qualified lecturers will be on ground to upgrade the faculty.
