Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has congratulated the Ovie of Idjerhe Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Obukowho Monday Whiskey, JP, PhD, Udurhie I, on the occasion of his 60th birthday and fifth coronation anniversary.
The twin celebration, which comes up on Sunday, January 18, 2026, was described by the Governor as a significant milestone that marks six decades of life and five years of purposeful, stable, and people-oriented traditional leadership in Idjerhe Kingdom.
In a congratulatory message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, Governor Oborevwori said the anniversary offers an opportunity to reflect on the monarch’s contributions to the preservation of cultural heritage, peaceful coexistence, and the overall development of the kingdom.
The Governor noted that since ascending the throne, Udurhie I has displayed exemplary leadership rooted in wisdom, humility, and inclusiveness, qualities that have strengthened unity among the people of Idjerhe Kingdom and fostered enduring peace.
According to him, the prevailing peace and harmony in the kingdom stand as evidence of the monarch’s commitment to dialogue, consensus-building, and respect for traditional institutions.
Governor Oborevwori further commended the royal father for his support for development initiatives and sustained cooperation with government at all levels, noting that such partnership has continued to drive grassroots development and socio-economic growth in the area.
He added that the reign of Udurhie I has been characterised by stability and progress, earning him widespread respect and admiration from his subjects and well-meaning Deltans.
The Governor prayed for God’s continued guidance, good health, and long life for the monarch, wishing him many more years of impactful service to Idjerhe Kingdom and humanity.
