EDO STATE ARMY COMMAND GETS NEW BOSS

The Nigeria Army Leadership has appointed Brigadier General Faruk Yahaya as the new commander 4 Brigade Nigeria Army Edo state following the redeployment of Brigadier General Olajide Laleye to Headquarters infantry Corps and Centre Jaji as Chief of staff.
This was confirmed in a press statement issued to news men in the state capital through the command Assistant Director, Public Relations Cpt. JE Unuakhalu.
It was gathered that, since the appointment of major General Tukur Yusuf Buratai as the new Chief of Army staff, the wind of redeployment of officers and further voluntary retirement of senior officers from the service has created vacuum which needed urgent attention considering the security challenges in the country.
However, the seasoned infantry officer who rose through the ranks after completing all statutory courses has participated in several operations across board; whilst various unit and formation in the Nigeria Army.
The new commander has since assumed duty on august 5, 2015, at the Army headquarters as the 35th Brigade Commander.
