EAT THEIR MONEY, VOTE THEM OUT, EMERHOR TELLS DELTANS AT FLAG-OFF RALLY
By Francis Sadhere
The Delta State All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate for the February 2015 election, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, has called on the good people of Delta state to vote out the ruling party even if they were given money.
Olorogun Emerhor stated this at his official campaign flag-off held at Agbor, Delta State.
Emerhor who lamented that for the past 16 years the ruling PDP had brought nothing but poverty to the country, said the country needed fresh people with fresh ideas to be at the helm of affairs and bring the needed development.
“PDP is recycling old politicians. They are bringing back the same people every day. It is the same people who have eaten the country aground. If they give you money, eat their money but do not vote for them. I am the only fresh person in the block. I am the only person coming from the business world,” Emerhor said.
He said he is the only fresh politician in the Delta gubernatorial race that has succeeded in the business world, adding that with his business experience over the years, he will turn around the state’s business environment.
He said: “I want to promise Deltans that for the first one hundred days in office I will set aside Ten Billion Naira(N10B) as empowerment funds which will be accessed in all the local government areas in the state so that our young men and women will have somewhere to go when they need money to set up their small business. What is happening today is that if we are not given money by our parents, brothers, sisters or friends no one else will give us money to start our own business. But in my administration you will have somewhere to go to access funds for your small businesses. I know how to turn around small business to a big business.”
Emerhor said that many businesses in the state have collapsed because the ruling party does not know how to keep them afloat; adding that since he was coming from the business would, if he wins the election he is going to revive all the companies that have folded up.
While promising to address the issue of unemployment in the state by ensuring that youths have access to small scale loans, the APC governorship candidate added that by reviving all the dead industries in the state, the youths will be fully employed in the industries.
The business mogul stressed that if voted into power, he would bring massive development into all sectors of the economy, adding added that healthcare services, schools, construction of roads and other amenities will be handled at the local government levels.
Earlier, the Delta State APC Chairman, Prophet Jones Erue who stressed that PDP is dead in the country, urged all APC party faithful to ensure that they collect their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs), so that they can kick out PDP from government.
Prophet Erue said that it was time to change the PDP dynasty that has been ruling the country for the past 16 years, noting that the ruling party has brought nothing good to the people of Nigeria since it started ruling the country.
He urged all Nigerians to vote for the APC saying that General Mohammadu Buhari has the magic wand to take the country out of the shackles of poverty that PDP has put it described Olorogun Emerhor as a prudent manager who is known to have revolutionized all the businesses that he lays his hands on.
Also speaking, the running mate to Olorogun Emerhor, Chief Thomas Abanum, charged the teeming supporters of APC to vote en mass and cast their votes for Olorogun Emerhor, saying that the time to bring massive development to the state was now.
Speaking to our correspondent, APC Delta State House of Assembly candidate for Warri South Constituency 1, Barrister Robinson Ariyor said it was high time professional were at the helm of affairs in the country, emphasizing that Emerhor was a core professional who can bring development to the state.
He added that over the years, mediocre have been in the corridors of powers, adding that that was why Nigeria found itself where it is today and expressed the hope that with the injection of professionals into the political arena, the desired change will be achieved.
He lamented that those at the helm of affairs were far away from the people they are leading, saying that if he is elected into the house, he would ensure that he partnered with his people to ensure that development comes to them.
Barrister Ariyor said that the distribution of permanent voters cards were characterized by a lot of malpractices, accusing some top government officials and individuals of having in their possession PVCs that they intend to use at the election.
Also, the APC Delta State House of Assembly candidate for Warri South Constituency 11, Chief Vincent Okudolor, while speaking to journalists, urged all Deltans to collect their PVCs, saying that it is their ticket to making the changes they so desired.
Okudolor said it was high time the people tried new hands and ensure that the ruling party is voted out of power, noting that without collecting their PVCs there was no way the people will be allowed to vote and achieve the desired change they are clamoring for.
APC Chieftain,(Dr) Mrs. Veronica Ogbuagu while speaking to journalists, warned that politicians should not attempt to rig the election, noting that if they do, the peace pact signed by all the political parties will not hold water.
