Mulade Commissions NDP Office in Koko, Takes Campaign to Ogbinbiri, Ogbudugbudu

By Francis Sadhere, Warri

Chief (Dr.) Mulade Blessing Sheriff, National Democratic Party (NDP) candidate for Warri Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections, has commissioned the party’s ward office in Koko, Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State, as part of his grassroots mobilisation campaign ahead of the polls.

Mulade also visited Ogbinbiri and Ogbudugbudu communities on Thursday as he commenced his Community-to-Community and House-to-House campaign tour under his Light of Hope Transformation Agenda.

Speaking at the commissioning of the NDP ward office in Koko, Mulade said the facility would serve as a communication link between him, the party and the people at the grassroots.

He said the office was established to provide residents with direct access to the party and create opportunities for regular engagement on issues affecting their communities.

According to him, the office would also facilitate quarterly and annual meetings with constituents, promote public participation and support initiatives aimed at creating employment opportunities for youths.

He added that the party intended to replicate the initiative in other communities across the constituency.

Mulade expressed confidence that the 2027 general election would favour candidates with the capacity and courage to speak for the people, insisting that leadership must be measured by performance and accountability.

At Ogbinbiri, he was received by the Amakosuwei of the community, Chief Bernard Sule, alongside members of the traditional council, youths and other residents, who expressed support for his political ambition.

The campaign visit featured traditional dance performances and other cultural displays as residents welcomed the NDP candidate and his entourage.

Mulade, while expressing confidence in God and the support of the electorate, said his emergence as representative of the constituency would mark the beginning of a new chapter of development.

He maintained that his Light of Hope Transformation Agenda was not merely a political slogan but a social contract with the people, anchored on accountability and the fulfilment of campaign promises.

He assured that every commitment made to the people would be backed by concrete action, adding that no development project would be abandoned.

At Ogbudugbudu, one of the community’s chiefs, Chief Tuesday Baidi, raised concerns over what he described as years of government neglect, particularly in the provision of basic infrastructure.

Baidi lamented the poor condition of roads in the community, which he said had continued to make movement difficult for residents.

He also called for the construction of a link bridge between Ufunama Community in Edo State and Ogbinbiri in Delta State, explaining that the project would improve connectivity and road access between the neighbouring communities.

The community chief further drew attention to the poor state of water supply in Ogbudugbudu and appealed for urgent intervention.

He urged Mulade, if elected to the House of Representatives, to use his position to attract a tertiary institution to the community, noting that such a project would expand educational opportunities and stimulate development in the area.

The concerns raised by the community leaders formed part of the issues presented to the NDP candidate during his grassroots engagement tour.
