OPOROZA, Delta State — The National Democratic Party (NDP) candidate for the House of Representatives, Warri Federal Constituency, Chief Comrade Mulade B. Sheriff, PhD, has arrived Oporoza, headquarters of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, for a homecoming courtesy visit to the Pere of Ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom.
Mulade, the Ibe-Sorimowei of Gbaramatu Kingdom, arrived the community on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, amid a warm reception from supporters, community stakeholders, political associates and well-wishers.
The NDP candidate was accompanied by a large gathering of supporters and associates who joined him on the visit to the palace of His Royal Majesty, Oboro Gbaraun II, Aketekpe, Agadagba, the Pere of Ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom.
His arrival reportedly generated excitement in the community, with residents and supporters lining the route as the politician made his way to the Pere’s Palace.
The visit is part of Mulade’s homecoming activities as he reconnects with traditional institutions, community leaders and other stakeholders in Gbaramatu Kingdom ahead of the 2027 House of Representatives election for Warri Federal Constituency.
At the palace, the NDP candidate is expected to pay homage to the traditional ruler and engage the monarch and other stakeholders on issues concerning the kingdom and the wider Warri Federal Constituency.
Mulade, a son of Gbaramatu Kingdom, is known as a Niger Delta environmentalist, investor and politician, with his public activities largely centred on issues affecting the Niger Delta region.
The homecoming visit has also attracted political attention as parties and aspirants intensify consultations and grassroots engagements ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The palace engagement was ongoing as of the time of filing this report, with supporters and community members awaiting the outcome of the meeting between the NDP candidate and the traditional institution.
