Oboreh has warned matriculants agains joining any form of cult groups, stressing that the polytechnic will not hesitate to show such student the way out.

He advised students of the Polytechnic to continue to apply
themselves diligently to their studies and make self discipline their
watch-word.

The rector gave this advised over the weekend during the 14th
matriculation of the polytechnic, where over 1500 students were matriculated.

He further advised the students to focus on the reasons why they came to school and shun all acts of misconduct which are capable of expelling them from the polytechnic.

In his words, “the management of the polytechnic and
staffs are fully committed to the welfare of students. As you progress in your studies, you should continue to reflect on the words of wisdom you have heard today.

“The polytechnic has five schools, twenty-one departments and thirty programmes which are fully approved and accredited by National Board for Technical Examination (NBTE)”.

While listing completed and uncompleted projects in the
polytechnic, Dr Oboreh noted that, “a Central Administrative two storey building with over seventy-two offices, SUG building, polytechnic Senior Staff club and over 20 blocks of lecture halls with over 260 seating capacity well furnished for banking and finance, Business Administration and Management, Mass Communication, Office Technology and Management, Mechanical and Electrical Workshop among others various structures has been completed with Internal Generated Revenue (IGR).”

“Ongoing projects are, a ten thousand sitting capacity stadium with
tracts, seats and full roofs cover, remodeling of the main gate,
workshop for general public with alignment and wheel balancing
equipment, and banking hall for the Department of Banking and Finance,” he added.

Dr Oboreh also lauded the State Governor, Sen Dr Ifeanyi Okowa for his commitment and gracious release of fund for the functional operation of the Polytechnic and prompt payment of staff salaries, which he described as “a bold step towards accomplishment of his development agenda for the polytechnic”.
