WHY CHRISTAINS SHOULD BE MORE UNITED-BISHOP AGHEDO

By Kingsley Enasco (Benon)

Bishop Prophet Fred Oifoghe Aghedo is the Bishop of the Gospel Defender Ministry, Benin City Edo State. The Ministry which is a deliverance-ministry that is highly prophetic has been touted by many who have had the opportunity to worship there as a place where miracle are bound. The undisputed lenses of the National Reformer Eben Enasco Kingsley was on point as he shares his experience thus far on the just concluded Benin city Christian community assemblage.

Excerpt:

Sir you attended a program recently called Benin City Christian community assemblage. What was it all about?

Bishop Prophet Fred Oifoghe Aghedo

First, the program was organized to put the Christians within the metropolis together to be more united and share the love of Christ among Christendom. It was my first time of participating. Before now people felt it was narrowed to tribal sentiment but then, we discovered it was for all. When they made it clear it was not Benin forum.

Would you say Sir the motive of the program will flow down to the Christian community after that day?

Well, that strictly depends on the leadership of the body. To the best of my knowledge, I think so, because we were all exited during the program. The message carried all of us along. The mission behind the vision was clearly geared towards peace and unity in our state and particularly the nation. Prayers were centered on good governance from our leaders and the success of the new government. God was able to avert war in this country when the past president relinquish power to the new ruling party because people expected and agitated for conflict. But God touched his heart and he took the action he felt was best for the interest of the people of the nation. So to me, he is a hero. Because some of us saw the vision and prophesy and he listened; thank God for that because, it was the reasons that averted the danger that was looming.

You just described former President Good luck Jonathan as a hero but to some people he was not, what’s your take on this?

You know, people have wide mouth to say things the way they feel. They don’t reason before they talk. “People would always notice a change in another man’s attitude towards them but they will not notice their behavior that caused the change. When someone offends you a thousand and one times, everyone would hear it; but you will not tell the same people what you did before that prompted the offence”. Jonathan knew those who wanted power, were desperate of making sure they steer conflict. Some of those prophets who were proactive kept on him to quit by averting the danger. From the beginning he stated that for him being Nigeria president doesn’t worth the blood of innocent Nigerians and he left for that reason. So anyone who assumes if he has resisted to relinquishing power met to push the country to trouble. Jonathan showed the exemplary life of Christ Jesus with this singular action. He listened to the tiny voices of some prophet s that saw the danger ahead.

Away from this Sir, we would like you to throw light on security issues across the nation as a clergy man you are expected to pray against all this. How do you react to this?

Like the security alert we heard during the assemblage it was quite scaring to some of us. This alone indicates that there’s a problem in this nation and nobody is ready to talk about it. It is a religious war. For me am ready to die for the truth. Like Archbishop Benson Idahosa would say, it is better one dies in the hand of God than in the hand of man. With the tips we have heard we have to sensitize our ushers on how they welcome new comers to church. I have been kidnapped on several occasions and subsequently released. I am not scared.

Nowadays, you see men of God heavily guided by convoy of police officers who are suppose to be somewhere else. But Jesus never got police surrounding him. Why this sir?

Let me borrow a leaf from what I saw in Israel. Jesus said something when he was about to enter the temple that the House of his father is supposed to be called house of prayer why then is it surrounded by dean of robbers? During my visit to Israel I saw where Jesus rested with the cross. Maybe men of God heavily protected by convoy of police officers are afraid of death and molestation. I became ordained when I was 10-year old by Arc. Bishop Idahosa, so not all are called to do the work of God. Imagine some pastors who became pastors in less than three years and acquire everything against the wish of God. For me, I don’t think having massive convoy is really proper.

So I suggest pastors must be heavenly conscious rather than try to acquire the whole world to an extent when they die the children may not even know some of those things they secretly acquired.
