WHY AM DUMPING LABOUR PARTY SOON TO PDP — DELTA LAWMAKER IVWURIE
Christopher Odamah, Abraka
The member representing Ethiope East Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly Asaba, Hon. Chief Evance Ochuko Ivwurie has indicated his interest to dump the Labour Party (LP) and move on to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Hon. Evance Ochuko Ivwurie made this known to the people of his constituency during a consultation meeting held at his private residence in Abraka, Ethiope East Local Government Area of the state.
The Chairman, House Committee on Agriculture and Natural Resources in the State House of Assembly said the major reason why he was decamping to the People’s Democratic Party was because of the pains and sufferings meted on his die-hard supporters in the Labour Party he belongs to.
“I feel the pains of my supporters in Labour Party. Everyday I reflect upon the hardship being meted on them and that is the major reason for my decision; to consult with them in order to make them see the larger picture. They cannot continue to impose suffering and hardship upon themselves. Liberation is very important. Freedom for them means doing the proper thing. Leadership is critical,” Hon. Ivwurie said.
The Lawmaker informed the audience that Labour Party provided him the ladder to the Delta State House of Assembly, saying that;” Labour Party is a wonderful political party and it remains in my heart with all due respect. The regard and love for Labour Party will last for a very long time.”
He also said that, “I want my supporters and constituents to know that I feel their pains and want them to work with me in the party where they will be respected, given opportunities in positions and empowerment, to actually enjoy the dividends of democracy by moving from extreme poverty to prosperity which is slogan of the government that is my dream for them. And to achieve that, you need to choose a proper platform like PDP”.
“The choice of PDP is simple, I have decided to join PDP because it has a better and effective leadership qualities. There is need for Labour Party and PDP to synergize in order to work together”.
According to the Vice Chairman, House Committee on Power and Energy in the State Assembly, the leadership of Delta State PDP is very robust, effective, tested, trusted and have political experience in engineering and administration and hailed the State Governor for his achievements so far and the State Party Chairman, adding that “PDP, very much understand the tenets of democracy and challenges of democraticalization. So, I can really roll with them.”
He further revealed that he will formally declare for the PDP in a ceremony in Ethiope East Local Government Area in no distant time where all his supporters both at home and abroad will grace and move enmasse, saying that; “because Hon. Ivwurie is not an Abuja politician or Asaba politician, but a grassroot politician.
