Warri 2013: Warri people are peace Loving- Uduaghan

Contrary to the belief by people outside Delta State that Warri is not peaceful, the State Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan has said Warri is the most peaceful place in the country.
Governor Uduaghan who said this today, at the closing ceremony of the Africa Youth Athletic Championship, AYAC, in Warri also noted that the Warri people are hospitable people who treat all their visitors with great respect.
He commended the security agents and the good people of Warri for making the hosting of the African Youth Championship a success.
He said; “The security agents that comprise the Police, Army, Navy, SSS, and the good people of Warri must be commended for their doggedness and peaceful nature. Contrary to the belief by many that Warri is not peaceful, Warri is the most peaceful place in the country. We welcome all visitors that come to Warri.”
Dr. Uduaghan who commended members of the Local Organizing Committee for a job well done, said members of the committee were selected from different parts of the country, stressing that all of them are people with experience.
Commenting on why he has a passion for sports, the Delta State Governor said that he is moved by the passion because he believed that sports is one of the ways to bring out the youths from the world of criminality.
He also said that sport is one of the ways his administration is looking at to promoting its dream of a Delta beyond oil, adding that sports can empower the youths and bring out the best in them.
He thanked Super Sports for the level of coverage it has given the competition, just as he praised other media houses for their commitment towards the championship.
