Peace Has Returned To Uzere, Come Back Home – Sir Afiemo Pleads With Indigenes
The Uzere Peace and Development Movement (UPDM) rose from a crucial meeting, recently with a call on all those fled the oil-rich community following a protracted crisis to return home.
In a communiqué issued and signed by the Chairman of the Movement, Sir Israel Afiemo, a retired Director, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and Secretary, E.B. Ukiri Esq. at the end of the emergency meeting held at Sam Ogrih’s residence in Uzere, the Movement said peace has return to the Community.
According to them, the need for peace and development are necessary ingredients and all hands should be on deck to embrace peace and development in the community.
Every effort, they said was being made to ensure that those detained in connection with the crisis are released from custody, adding that the other phases of the peace effort would follow in due course and solicited the cooperation of all sons and daughters of Uzere community.
