UYMPC ENDORSES OLOROGUN O’TEGA EMERHOR FOR GOVERNOR…..says Chief Great Ogboru a betrayer
By Harriet Anetor
The All Progressive Congress governorship candidate in delta state Olorugun O’Tega Emerhor has been unanimously endorsed by a cross section of Urhobo youths under the umbrella of Urhobo Youth Movement for Progressive Change (UYMPC).
Speaking recently at the event held at Ughelli town in Ughelli North LGA of Delta State, the group co-coordinator comrade Cyril Oghenekaro Eke “said Olorugun O’tega is the right man to lead Deltans to the promise land because he is a man of integrity and a well accomplished businessman with a lot of links to lure both local and foreign investment to our state.
“We have not forgotten so soon the huge donation he made towards the building of the UPU complex in Uwiamughe. O’tega has promised to set aside ten billion naira as investment funds within his first hundred days in office for the sole purpose of small and medium scale business empowerment. This has shown clearly that he has the interest of the Urhobo people and the entire delta population at heart unlike his counterpart of the labour party Chief Great Ogboru.
Speaking further, the group’s co-coordinator said Ogboru has not been entirely truthful to the Urhobo people because he and some Urhobo chiefs “like Chief Joe omene and their cohorts ganged up together to manipulate the Urhobo nation into ceding the governorship seat to the PDP but thank GOD their plans has been expose for all to see.
“They told us Great Ogboru has the support of president Goodluck even when the president said it repeatedly that he will not give his support to anyone who is not from his party and that the APC is an opposition party. Now the so-called support can no longer be guaranteed because Mr. President could not even win his election not to talk less of delivering a man from another party plus the APC can no longer be viewed as an opposition party.
“Another matter that has shown deficiencies in the labour party is in the just concluded national assembly elections. The group imagined how results for the presidential elections could be accepted and the ones for the national assembly favouring the labour party are being cancelled to favour the PDP and the labour party have no response to this because their political tentacles ends in white house Abraka. This was the main reason the UPU said they won’t support any mushroom party that does not have a national backing.
On the PDP candidate, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, the group says they are ashamed of those urhobo politicians who still go around soliciting support for okowa because they are not just betrayers but also not worthy to be called Urhobo sons and daughters. We don’t have many Anioma people supporting an Urhobo candidate or soliciting for votes in an Urhobo man’s campaign but in Senator okowa case the very opposite is what we have. The members of Urhobo Youth Movement for Progressive Change are calling on all and vote for Olorugun O’tega Emerhor for prosperity and a better life for all deltans.
Also speaking, the group’s PRO, Comrade Igbogidi Ovo Felix admonished people of Delta Central to vote wisely because the Urhobo nation needs to identify with the newly elected President, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (Orhuerakpo 1 of Nigeria).
The PRO also congratulated Gen Buhari on his victory at the 28th March presidential election.
