DELTA 2023: UPU DOES NOT PRODUCE AND ADOPT GOVERNORSHIP ASPIRANTS- OLOROGUN MOSES TAIGA
By Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe Esq.
It appears some folks want to drag Urhobo nation into another political trenches in an attempt to achieve their selfish governorship political ambitions, come 2023.
Of course, Deltans knows the person of Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, in terms of doggedness and bravery while digging up facts and analysing political issues. However, political appointment buried over 95 percent of the fearless trade mark of the PEN EAGLE, and shall be invoked soon.
One thing is clear, if the nonsense we are currently experiencing in the political milieu is not curtailed and those indirectly calling some of us slaves and beggars do not change their criminal mindsets, we shall take decisive decisions and pitch tent with the masses to address some fundamental issues.
I was infuriated after reading some rubbish written by one idiot called ZIK GBEMRE who in the name of dollars based politics decided to take the Urhobo Progress Union, UPU, Olorogun Moses Taiga and Urhobo nation to the cleaners in attempt to polish the ambition of his paymaster.
Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi, no doubt, is a prominent Urhobo son and holds the constitutional rights to compete for the office of governor of Delta State. However, the reliance on premature multiplicity of endorsements as the only means of winning the party governorship ticket sounds laughable.
Pedigree, enviable track records and previous actions and inactions while dealing with people and constituted authorities in the past and present plays key roles at party primaries and subsequent election victories. In fact, it’s too early to rely on endorsements to win party primaries.
Gbemre failed to narrow his article to the facts in issue which is Gbagi’s visit to Taiga, but went further to insult His Excellency the Governor of Delta State, Distinguished Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, Chief James Ibori, the entire UPU and Urhobo Nation.
Gbemre who was apparently doing the biddings of his pay master went further to say that all the projects claimed to have been commissioned by governor Okowa were actually executed by the Uduaghan administration; thereby declaring Okowa administration a total failure.
Gbemre should remember that his pay master claimed to be a good friend of governor Okowa and Ibori, a claim that has been debunked and rubbished by his revelation piece. His pay master is a well known radical individual who talks like a parrot and sings 24/7 like the keneri bird. He has shot himself in the leg and the battle line is drawn. His indirect attack on governor Okowa’s administration and reference to our national leader, Chief James Ibori, as ex-convict in Gbemre’s article have reduced his ambition to a futile exercise.
Dollars based consultation will certainly not determine who becomes Urhobo governorship candidate in 2023, and if any lunatic like Gbemre thinks that dollars is what will determine the choice of Urhobo nation in endorsing a candidate for governorship slot in 2023, then he must visit a psychiatrist. To hell with your dollars, if the dollars is meant to cause division and acrimony in Urhobo nation before 2023.
Governor Okowa and Chief Ibori are consummate leaders, well respected in the state and in national politics. They are not parrots like your pay master who consistently boast of his wealth from sunset to sunrise. That won’t do the magic in 2023. We shall arise and fight any arrogant money possessed aspirant who will give “Shiagware and Kolanut” to our leaders and take to pages of newspapers and the social media spectrum to insult them.
Olorogun Moses Taiga is not a poor man, rather he is a well known industrialist and a consolidated billionaire. He is not a man to be insulted over kolanut and some peanuts in dollars denominations. Enough of these rich man mentality in quest for power and authority.
Alhaji Aliko Dangote is the richest man in Africa but yet humble, respectful and sane. He does not insult Hausa leaders with his foreign currencies and that must not be seen or heard again in Delta State and Urhobo nation. Which kind money una get wey Dangote nor get? Give us a break please!
In a telephone conversation with UPU PG, Olorogun Moses Taiga, he confirmed that UPU did not adopt any aspirant but that at the appropriate time the entire UPU structure and prominent Urhobo leaders together with royal fathers shall meet to look at the best among the aspirants for the 2023 Urhobo governorship slot coming to Delta Central.
Taiga’s position must be respected and it mattered not whether some American dollars were dispensed in form of Shagware to cow UPU to do the impossible at this time. What’s important is that UPU and Moses Taiga denied ever endorsing any aspirant. And Shagware in our society is nonrefundable. And so be it.
Governor Okowa recently made his position known that it’s only God that will determine who becomes governor in 2023. But alas, some folks parades themselves as the crowned prince of Government House come 2023. Even if the governor entered to an alleged personal agreement with any Urhobo billionaire, his recent public statement in respect of 2023 has automatically vitiated and or nullified such gratuitous promise alleged to have been made.
Governor Okowa that we know will not and will never promise any individual that he shall hand over the mantle of governor to him in 2023. Okowa is too tactful, wise and diplomatic to make such alleged promise. Therefore, the aspirant currently parading himself as Okowa’s successor backed by uncontrollable display of American dollars should let peace reign in Delta State and in Urhobo Nation.
I hereby give Zik Gbemre 24 hours to retract and apologise to Governor Okowa, Chief Ibori and Urhobo nation for those disparaging comments and allegations. Failure to do so will mark the genesis of a tenacious media war between his paymaster’s camp and the Pen fraternity in Urhobo Nation. They will face 24/7 media war like never before. Be warned.
Stronger Delta, Let’s Build Together.
