By Francis Sadhere Warri
The PBAT Door-2-Door Movement, founded by ex-militant leader and influential Niger Delta figure High Chief (Dr.) Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, held a massive rally and world press conference on Friday at the NAF Conference Centre, Abuja, to mark Democracy Day 2025.
The event, themed around the movement’s commitment to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, featured a passionate keynote address by Comrade Sunday Adekanbi, Protem National Coordinator of the movement, declaring unwavering support for Tinubu and hailing his administration’s achievements as “monumental and historic.”
Describing the occasion as the beginning of a historic nationwide movement to return PBAT to Aso Rock, Adekanbi unveiled plans for a sweeping grassroots mobilization campaign across Nigeria.
He announced that High Chief Tompolo would personally spearhead a ward-to-ward, door-to-door campaign, engaging citizens, political stakeholders, and traditional rulers to bolster support for President Tinubu’s second term bid.
“Under Tompolo’s visionary leadership, this movement will unite Nigerians across regions and backgrounds to deliver 10 million votes for PBAT in 2027,” Adekanbi declared.
The movement praised President Tinubu’s two years in office as transformative, pointing to key reforms and initiatives across sectors.
Highlights of Tinubu’s administration, as outlined in the address, include: over 500,000 students benefitting from interest-free loans under NELFUND and over 100,000 youths trained in digital skills; the removal of fuel subsidy saving $10 billion annually, exchange rate unification, and a revenue boost to ₦6 trillion in Q1 2025; increased oil production to 1.61 million barrels per day with $8 billion in new investments; power generation up to 6,000MW and the launch of the CNG initiativee.
Others are: expansion of health insurance to 20 million Nigerians and revitalization of 1,000 Primary Healthcare Centres; ₦100 billion deployed for agricultural development and mechanization; the neutralization of over 13,500 terrorists and rescue of more than 11,000 kidnapped victims; major infrastructure projects like the 700km Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and Second Niger Bridge access roads.
“These achievements,” Adekanbi noted, “reflect a visionary leadership that has restored investor confidence, grown foreign reserves from $4 billion in 2023 to over $23 billion in 2024, and positioned Nigeria as an emerging global economic force.”
Describing Tinubu as the most deserving candidate for re-election, the PBAT Door-2-Door Movement emphasized that his bold reforms have placed Nigeria on an irreversible path to prosperity.
The group vowed to combat misinformation and amplify the administration’s policies at the grassroots level.
“We believe in the Renewed Hope Agenda because we see the results in real time — from jobs to infrastructure, from justice reform to digital governance,” said Adekanbi.
The movement concluded the rally with a national call to unity and action, urging Nigerians to embrace Tinubu’s vision and join the campaign for continuity.
“Together, we will secure a brighter, united, and globally respected Nigeria under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Adekanbi affirmed.
The PBAT Door-2-Door Movement’s rally signals the formal launch of an aggressive re-election drive for Tinubu, with Tompolo’s involvement expected to galvanize massive support, particularly from the Niger Delta and other grassroots strongholds.
