Stay put in your ministerial calling, Deeper Life Overseer tells Pastors

BY OMOS OYINBODE, ASABA

Delta State Overseer of Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor Obinna Nkemjika, has said that pastors who divert from their ministerial callings into ventures that are at variance with their callings, have lost their focus, saying pastors should stay put in the call of God and work for the salvation of souls.

Pastor Nkemjika made the observation during an interaction with journalists in preparation for the March 24 crusade of the General Superintendent of the church, Pastor William Kumuyi in Asaba, the Delta State capital.

Nkemjika said a pastor has a heavenly calling which is only given to him by God and it will be unfortunate for him to turn around and begin chasing the mundane things of the passing world at the expense of his ministerial calling.

He said pastors have so much to do for God, considering the sheer number of humans on earth, it is incumbent on gospel ministers to follow the blue print of God for their lives and fulfill their ministries.

The pastor, who debunked allegations of financial inducement to some pastors to endorse political candidates, called on media practitioners not to publish what cannot be substantiated nor verified.

Nkemjika said “we should not credit what we do not see. Everybody is free to form pressure groups and entitled to their own opinion but if we do not have evidence, we should not publish unfounded allegations”.

He said the visit of Kumuyi to Asaba is crucial as God has prepared him to minister deliverance to the people of Asaba and the neighbouring communities in Oshimili North and South and other local government areas in the state.

He enjoined residents to avail themselves of the opportunity of Kumuyi’s crusade and get all needed miracles for their lives.

He said Kumuyi is prepared to minister to all challenges of the people as God has prepared him for this generation.
