RELIGIOUS BODY ADVISES YOUTHS AGAINST SOCIAL VICES

The Christ Universal Youth Fellowship (Youth wing) of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star has expressed concern over the increasing social vices in the society and called for collaborative effort to stem the tide.
This call was made by Amb. Ifiokabasi Udo, International Chairman, Christ Universal Youth Fellowship at an evangelical program of the religious body tagged “Spiritual Confluence”.
The program which witnessed the unveiling of an “Advocacy Billboard) was held in Agbor, Delta State.
The Billboard highlighted some of the ills in the society which included and not limited to: hate, abortion, rape, prostitution, ritual killings, illicit drugs, alcoholism, cybercrime among others
Engr. Ifiokabasi urged the people to embrace love, peace, God’s words, education, morality, self belief and self development.
According to Engr. Ifiokabasi, “the spate of ritual killings, rape, prostitution and crime in our society has been a cause for concern requiring a collaborative efforts to stem the tide.”
The International Chairman, Christ Universal Youth Fellowship added, “quite recently, the police paraded four under-aged boys for crime relating to money ritual and these cases are rife in the society due to the “get rich quick syndrome” in the society.’
He urged the society to embrace good virtues for a better and progressive society.
Also speaking, Mrs. Martha Isonguyo, Unit Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Agbor commended the religious body for unveiling the Billboard.
Mrs. Isonguyo who unveiled the Billboard said that the contents of the Billboard was timely in stemming the spate of crime in the society.
According to Mrs. Isonguyo, “the duty of FRSC is to prevent accidents. One accident causative factor is drug and alcohol mentioned on the Billboard. The public should read the Billboard and embrace the good virtues.”
In his remark, Head of Operations, Agbor Vigilante Group appreciated Brotherhood of Cross and Star for the Billboard, he described it as first of it’s kind in Agbor.
He frowned at the rate of crime and appealed to the public to shun social vices and embrace love for one another.
His Grace Archbishop Essien Ndu who represented His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu, Leader/Father, Brotherhood of the Cross and Star at the ceremony pronounced blessings on Agbor and Delta State at large.
The program was a weeklong event with courtesy visits to CSP Rex Enwelikwu, DPO Agbor Police Station, SP Monday Osayi, DPO Owa Oyibu among others
Other activities lined up included advocacy march and Delta State Inter-zonal competition.
