BREAKING: Oborevwori Re-elected Delta Speaker, As Ochor Ochor Emerges As Deputy

Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has been re-elected Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly.
The Okpe lawmaker, who was the Speaker of the immediate Sixth Assembly, was unanimously reelected by a voice vote by the rest 28 lawmakers of the State House of Assembly, today, Monday.
Hon. Tim Owhefere, member representing Isoko North Constituency led the nomination for the Speakership position of the Seventh Assembly and seconded by Hon. Festus Okoh, member representing Ika South Constituency.
Hon. Christopher Ochor Ochor, lawmaker representing Ukwuani State Constituency, also emerged as the Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly.
The Speaker in his acceptance speech said, distinguished colleagues, may I thank you for the honour and privilege of electing me as Speaker of the Seventh Assembly. I sincerely thank you my dear colleagues for the trust placed on me to once again serve as Speaker of this noble Assembly for a second term. By this show of love and trust, we have today set an indelible record in the history of our State Legislature. We give God the praise.
In his words, “This is our social contract with our constituents, and I pledge on behalf of all members of the Seventh Assembly that we will deliver on this mandate. I therefore thank profusely our constituents for electing us to this Seventh Assembly”.
