URHOBO TRANSFORMATION ASSOCIATION CALLS FOR URHOBO UNITY.

A political group, known as “Urhobo Transformation Association (UTA) has called for Unity amongst the Urhobo People for Socio-Economic & Political development in urhobo land.
This call was made recently in Jesse town, The Ancestral Headquarters of Idjerhe Kindom where the group held her routine monthly meeting on 14th, February 2016.
The Agenda of the day pondered mainly on the issue of Unity as panacea to development of every society. It was thrown open to the floor of the house as members were allowed to make meaningful contributions as to how Urhobo Nation can attain the height of greatness in the Nigerian society.
The President of the Group Comr. Godfrey Oghenevovwero. Ughwe who lamented the state of the underdevelopment of Urhobo Nation posited that our political leaders who are at the top of governance are performing below expectations of the Urhobo youth in.
He however opined that “Urhobo must unite for better and brighter
future for sustainable development that would be beneficiary to our
yet unborn generation”
Another speaker in the house, Comr. Irikefe Matthew Agbroko challenged the Urhobo youth to be steadfast and bold enough to know their place in the political system.
He posited that for unity to be guaranteed, the present political
leaders should consider the place of the Urhobo youth by accruing to
them what is due them, just as Johnson Okpoh preaches forgiveness
among the Urhobo people as the best way of harboring unity in any
society.
The State Coordinator Comr. Blessing Akamugbe was of the opinion that unity will fosters if our leaders stopped the idea of using the Urhobo youth as political Thugs.
He narrated how politicians after thug of war during elections meets
and reconcile without the knowledge of the youths who in one way or
the other had engaged themselves in political fights, becoming
enemies and in some cases killing themselves defending their boss.
He suggested that public campaign to educating the Urhobo youth by shunning violence before, during and after elections should be carried out.
The meeting attracted a number of youth leaders including the Speaker Ethiope West Legislative Arm Rt. Hon. Prince Oyovwikigho Adegor JP, Hon. Moses Mac-Iver Ex Caretaker Committee Member ETWLG and the Publisher, Ethiope Arena Magazine Comr. Blessing Akamugbe JP amongst others.
The highlights of the meeting was when the group elected Mr. Johnson Ejurhievwokoghene Okpoh as Chairman Committee on Urhobo Unity Summit followed by group photograph of all UTA Members.
Next Meeting of the Group is slated to hold at Ejovi Garden Motel, Km2 Udu Ughelli Rd after Utuama House, Ovwian, Udu LGA, Delta State. Date 13th March 2016 Time :2pm
