ETHIOPE WEST L.G.A DESERVES DELTA PDP CHAIRMANSHIP- OFA
By David Obes
The former Commissioner who represented the board of the Delta State Oil Producing Area Development Commission at Ethiope West, Sapele and Okpe Local Government Area respectively, Chief (Dr.) Henry Ogheneochuko Ofa (JP) has suggested that with Ethiope West Local Government Area been the Mecca of politic in Delta State, they deserved nothing less than the Chairmanship of the People’s democratic Party (PDP) at the state level.
Chief Ofa who fielded questions from journalists in Oghara, the administrative headquarters of Ethiope West Council said that at each election from the beginning of this democratic experiment, the local government has always produced block votes to all PDP candidates.
He argued further that from Jesse, Oghara, including Mososgar Kingdoms, no other party has won election in the area since everyone believes in PDP ideology because of the leaders who always guided their people rightly on the persons whom they should vote for, which they whole heartedly accepted without any form of disagreement, quarreling or bitterness.
He pointed out to people like Hon. Emeyese, Chief Lovette Idisi whose mother is from Ethiope West and others which got their block and winning votes from the local government to further buttress his argument appealing to the party hierarchy at the state level to consider Ethiope West person as the Chairman of the party in the next election that will constitute new leaders for fairness principles since there are no other strong party in the area, except PDP.
Chief Ofa assured the State that with their National Leader Chief James Onanefe Ibori, Ethiope West people will continue to remain stronger as one member of the PDP family and will continue to play the role of Mecca to PDP candidates vying for any elective position in the State and at the National Level.
He called on Deltans to always support the Senator (Dr.) Okowa’s led administration which is already on the right track of attracting meaningful development to Deltans through his “SMART Agenda” and his other laudable programmes.
