A former Delta State Commissioner and Niger Delta activist, Chief Omolubi Newuwumi has appealed to those still nursing grudges on the process leading to the coronation of Atuwatse lll, as the 21st Olu of Warri to Sheath their swords and join hands with others to chat a new course for the growth and development of Itsekiri nation.
Chief Omolubi who spoke to newsmen shortly after successfully revalidated his title at Ode-Itsekiri said, “it no longer make sense to continue to bear unnecessary grudges against the throne at this stage.” He charge all aggrieved Itsekiri sons and daughters to withdraw their court cases challenging the whole coronation process.
He stated that the emergence of His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse lll as the Olu of Warri has a divine touch whose spiritual essence cannot be questioned, saying the King came with a special Grace as everything worked in his favor up to the coronation ceremony.
“In spite the lockdown occasioned by Covid 19 and the difficulty that came with raising finance due to economic crunch, protest by youth group in the land without any violence, burning, no destruction of any kind and no death recorded also. You can see divine Glory in all of this. Even the successful burial of His Majesty, Ikenwoli were all executed in an atmosphere of tranquility and conviviality”, Omolubi pointed out.
According to him, the coronation event was the best ever recorded.
