APC Members Happy With Oborevwori’s Leadership, Will Support Him in 2027 — Waive Campaign DG

From Francis Sadhere, Delta

The Director General of the Rev. Francis Ejiroghene Waive Campaign Council 2027, Chief Bunor Agbomedarho, has said that members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are pleased with the unifying leadership style and developmental strides of the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.

Chief Agbomedarho made the statement while fielding questions from journalists in Warri, Delta State, on issues surrounding the 2027 ambition of his principal, Rt. Hon. Francis Ejiroghene Waive, who represents Ughelli North, Ughelli South and Udu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

According to him, Governor Oborevwori deserves the support of all well-meaning Deltans to enable him consolidate on his achievements and complete his constitutionally allowed eight years in office.

“We are proud of the good work of the governor, the unifying role he is playing and the massive development going on across Delta State. Members of the APC are happy with him. We are also proud that Rev. Waive was among those who called on him to join the APC, and we are ready to work for him in 2027,” Agbomedarho said.

He described any attempt by another Urhobo person from Delta Central Senatorial District to challenge Governor Oborevwori in 2027 as a disservice to the Urhobo nation, stressing that the state’s governorship rotation arrangement should be respected.

Agbomedarho dismissed allegations that Rev. Waive engaged in anti-party activities, insisting that the lawmaker has remained loyal to the APC while practicing inclusive politics.

“Even while in the APC, he has always associated with people in the PDP because, for us, we are one Delta. After the Supreme Court affirmed Governor Oborevwori’s victory and our party’s governorship candidate congratulated him, it became clear that we must put party differences aside and work for the progress of our people,” he said.

He added that supporting Governor Oborevwori to complete the Urhobo eight-year tenure would pave the way for power to rotate to another senatorial district in line with the state’s political understanding.

Reacting to calls that Rev. Waive should not return to the House of Representatives in 2027, Agbomedarho said such voices were mainly from disgruntled old APC members unhappy with Waive’s role in attracting the governor to the party.

“Rev. Waive did not decamp from the APC. Winning influential figures into a party is politics and should be celebrated, not condemned. Those attacking him do not want peace in Delta State or for the Urhobo nation,” he stated.

He urged constituents of Ughelli North, Ughelli South and Udu Federal Constituency to return Rev. Waive for a third term, citing his legislative achievements, particularly the establishment of a Federal Medical Centre in Ovwian, Udu Local Government Area.

“That Federal Medical Centre has employed about 950 staff, mostly Deltans. I doubt if any other member of the House of Representatives from Delta State has achieved that. Construction of the permanent site will soon commence, and our people are happy. You don’t change a winning team,” Agbomedarho said.

He concluded that Rev. Waive is well-positioned for the APC primaries and the 2027 general election, expressing confidence that the political signals from the constituency are positive.
