The Proprietress of Chinkelly Schools, Ekpan-Effurun, Delta State, Dr. (Mrs.) Veronica E. Ogbuagu has called on the Minister for Labour and Productivity, Senator Dr. Chris Ngige to organize a forum known as A National Association for Combating Unemployment in order to address the issue of unemployment in Nigeria.
In a welcome address to mark the celebration of Nigeria 56 Independence Day Anniversary delivered by the Proprietress of Chinkelly Schools, Ekpan-Effurun, Delta State held at the weekend said that the body will be responsible in chopping the big unemployment monsters into bits since the issue of unemployment in Nigeria is a very big problem.
According to the former Delta State commissioner for Education, “The answer to no work is work. It is everyone’s job to find work for others.”
“We can do this if well meaning Nigerians pledge to tackle unemployment starting from their own communities believing that leaders of employers, trade unions, farmers; if work together, might bring a solution,” she posited in her speech.
Dr. Ogbuagu calls for a new Nigeria where job opportunities are available and people are rewarded with merit. A new Nigeria where the youths are employed by government or private individuals and a new Nigeria where there is equity in the distribution of our human and natural resources.
