Wickedness Bane of Nigeria – CAN President… As Uduaghan celebrates 60th Birthday with Thanksgiving
By Francis Sadhere
President, Christian Association of Nigeria, (CAN) Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor has identified wickedness as the bane of the society, stressing that unless the people turn away from their wickedness the country will continue to experience hardships.
Oritsejafor stated this today at the Thanksgiving Service for Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan on his 60th birthday celebration held at the First Baptist Church, Warri, Delta State.
Oritsejafor in his sermon at the Thanksgiving Service said that a lot of Nigerians have abandoned their God and have given their lives to the devil for political gains.
“There is so much wickedness in our land. Nigeria is the only country where white is turned to black. There are a lot of people who are languishing in prisons for crimes they did not commit. Wickedness is the enemy of this country. But I want to let you know that it will come to an end one day. Wickedness will catch up with you one day, said Oritsejafor.
He said, “I feel pain in my heart when I see educated people say they want to go back to the ways of their forefathers. They want to go back to the days of darkness. Darkness hold people in darkness. The black race is the most intelligent humans on earth but we have failed to maximize our potentials. Election are here again and people are going back to serve idols just because of election. Some are burying human heads in their backyards, while some are burying cows and other things in their backyards. These things cannot take you anywhere. Please come back to God and you will be saved.”
The CAN President urged all those that God has blessed to use their wealth to enrich the lives of those who do not have, adding that it was only when people give that they will receive more blessings from God.
Earlier, Governor Uduaghan who read Psalm 103:1&20 with his wife, said that he cannot thank God enough for lifting him up for the past years, adding that all he has for God was to continue to praise and thank him.
He noted that his life was a testimony and witness of thanksgiving, stressing that he can never thank God enough for all the good things he has done in his life.
He said; “God has lifted me up so much that my life is a living witness of thanksgiving. I cannot thank God enough. Some people have castigated me telling me that I thank God too much. When the court removed me from office, I came to this church and thank God and people were asking me why I was thanking God when I have just been removed from office. When I was re-instated as the Governor I also came to thank God. Today I am stronger than I was ten years ago.”
Hundreds of Deltans trooped to First Baptist Church to celebrate with the governor.
The Governor and his family came out to thank God with music and dancing, for all he has done for him and his family.
