NNDC Poised To Transmit Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Initiative Into Reality In Niger Delta— Ogbuku

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) is poised to transmit President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Initiative into real physical infrastructural development of the Niger Delta region.

Ogbuku, Managing Director, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) during the commissioning of the ultra modern Delta State Office of the Commission in Warri, he said that
the Commission has embarked on many people oriented legacy projects across the region apart from the one being commissioned.

Chief Ogbuku expressed the Commission’s readiness to partner the Delta State Government for more infrastructural regional development in the State.

He further disclosed that when given the mantle of leadership of the NDDC, President Tinubu gave him a marching order that all abandoned projects in the region must be completed hence they are out to ensure that they deliver on the mandate given to them.

According to the Managing Director of the NDDC, “we are ready to partner the Delta State Government to bring the dividends of democracy to the people. We are grateful to Governor Oborevwori for his support so far that brought the project to reality in Delta State.”

On his part, Chief Chiedu Ebie, Chairman, NDDC, Governing Board said that as a body, they are saddled with the responsibility of providing policy direction for the management team to implement just as he said, they work with renowned firms to achieve their mandate.

While seeking productive partnership with the Delta State Government, Mr. Ebie promised that the Commission would swing into action in discussions and collaboration with Chevron Nigeria Limited to take more developmental projects to rural communities in the State.

He commended the State Government and other stakeholders for the roles they played in the execution and completion of the project being commissioned.

In his comments, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State called on the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to partner with the state governments in rehabilitating critical federal roads across the region.

Rt. Hon. Oborevwori said the edifice being commissioned symbolises shared commitment to development, inclusion, and service delivery.

He emphasized that true progress requires collaboration and renewed dedication to improving infrastructure, education, healthcare, and empowerment.

Oborevwori urged the Commission to focus on fixing failed roads that have caused untold hardship to commuters, noting that Delta State had already approved ₦35.7 billion for the reconstruction of the Warri/Sapele/Benin Road by Effurun Roundabout, from Spare Parts Market, to after Ohore Junction, an essential link connecting Delta to Bayelsa, Rivers, and Cross River States.

The Governor expressed his readiness to partner with the NDDC on the Omadino–Okerenkoko–Escravos Road and other major projects, revealing that a joint meeting between the state government, Chevron and the Commission would hold early next month to outline next steps.

He commended NDDC Managing Director, Dr.Ogbuku, for his leadership and commitment to development, describing the new office as a mark of institutional stability and renewed purpose.

Oborevwori also lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his Renewed Hope Agenda, saying it has strengthened state finances, fostered inclusivity, and restored public confidence in governance.

The ceremony was attended by Chairman, Senate Committee on NDDC, Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong and Chairman, House Committee on NDDC, Hon. Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu among others guests.
