MACAULAY CONDOLES AKPOJENE, IDODO-UMEH FAMILIES

Comrade Ovuozourie Macaulay, former Secretary to the Delta State Government (SSG) has commiserated with the families of Akpojene of Otor Igho and Idodo-Umeh of Olomoro both of Isoko nation over the death of their patriarchs.
It could be recalled that Chief Gregory O. Akpojene, who was a teacher, a successful commercial farmer and former President General of Isoko Development Union (IDU) died at the age of 83 years, while Dr. George Idodo-Umeh, a publisher, an academic, an entrepreneur and a politician died at the age of 80 years.
In separate visits to the families, Macaulay who is the Director General of Warri/Uvwie and Environs Special Area Development Agency (WUEDA) sympathized with them paying glowing tributes to the departed great Isoko men.
He said that late Chief Akpojene was a devoted and loyal leader to the Isoko people adding, adding, “you were a mentor and a man who gave hope to so many during your life time. You will always be remembered as a patriotic Isoko leader.”
Also, he stated that Dr. Idodo-Umeh definitely accomplished his mission on earth, he spoke further, “politically, you made your mark. In the academic field, you had more than your fair share capping it with two doctorate degrees, an uncommon achievement”.
The former SSG urged the bereaved families to be consoled with the fact that their patriarchs lived a fulfilled life, and prayed God to grant them the fortitude to bear the great loss.
