Macaulay Foundation Fetes 1000 Children In Isoko

Macaulay Foundation has organised Christmas party for 1,000 children in Owhelogbo, Isoko North, Delta State in the spirit of spreading joy during the Yuletide.


The Children’s Christmas Party according to the Chairman of the foundation, former Secretary to Delta State Government, Comrade (Chief) Ovuozourie Samuel Macaulay, the Okiroro of Isoko Nation, is a yearly all-inclusive Christmas Party where the foundation gathers children from all socioeconomic backgrounds as well as children from Owhelogbo and orphanage home in Isoko North to fest and celebrate the birth of Christ together.


Earlier in his address, Comrade Macaulay, the Chairman of the foundation, noted that the Children’s Christmas Party celebration this year comes with a back-to-school empowerment programme for children to ease their back to school on the part’s of their parents.


He said; “It is with great joy and gratitude that I welcome you all to this year’s Macaulay Foundation Children Christmas Party. This year, we provide the Children needed school bags that will encourage them to thrive in academics.
“Today we gather here not just to celebrate the festive season but to renew our commitment to empowering the children, most especially the less privileged ones and as well give them a sense of belonging as future leaders of tomorrow.”
He further revealed that, the foundation is focused on providing support to women, children, youths and less privileged people in Isoko nation, Delta State, Nigeria and beyond; by creating lasting change through improvement in their educational pursuit, enhancing health care services and promoting economic sufficiency through targeted programmes and partnership.
In her part, Mrs Amaka Nwabue Macaulay, the Chairperson of Macaulay Foundation, described education as the cornerstone of the foundation’s, stressing that the programme is aimed at encouraging children to connect and make friends.
While acknowledging the importance of the season for children, she expresses concern for the children’s future and criticizes perceived dishonesty or unfairness in their upbringing, stressing that, “the foundation derived joy from seeing children play, eat, and connect with each other during the course of programme. As a foundation, we are trying our best in ensuring that we provide quality education to some children already documented with the Secretariat of the foundation.”
