By Jacob Onjewo
As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR), a top multi-media company in Kaduna, MicroManna organised a Unified Tertiary Matriculation (UTME) Computer Based Test (CBT) Seminar for students on Friday at its corporate head office in Kaduna.
The event attracted no fewer than 150 students, who were trained on how to make judicious use of their time during the exams, kinds of questions they should be expecting and the best subject combinations required for preferred courses of choice.
The free one-day seminar, organised by the MicroManna Computer College, was targeted at preparing the candidates ahead of the exams.
When newsmen visited the company’s head office located on Constitution Road, the acting accountant, Mr. Kingsley Ezeani who spoke on behalf of the CEO said that the seminar was hitch-free and a huge success.
“It is a free seminar. They did not pay a dime. We taught them how to get ready for the CBT. They were also be enlightened on the kind of questions to expect as well as how to beat time during the exams,” he disclosed.
He hinted that as part of activities of the seminar, the students were taken on a guided tour of their head office, ‘Gidan Manna’ after which prizes were won by some of the visitors.
Mr Ezeani when asked what makes MicroManna attractive to several customers, explained that besides having in stock latest technology and branded products, they also offer their customers one year warranty on each branded product purchased.
“For any branded products you get from us here, we give you a one-year warranty. If it develops faults, you bring it back to us if it is an issue we can fix, we do that if not, we replace it with a new product,” he stated.
The accountant stressed that some of the branded products they have are 42” TV sets, dual purpose flash dives that function on both phones and computer systems, UPS, laptops and several others.
When asked if they only sell products, he said that the company has several departments that specialize on other aspects like the MicroManna Computer College, which organized the CBT Seminar and Manna Kiddies where children are taught basic computer training as well as an official Manna Kiddies Club Membership Card is issued.
“Manna Kiddies was set up to cater for the ever increasing demand for quality ICT education for kids in Nigeria. It is a safe and conducive environment for children to develop mentally, physically and socially. Manna Kiddies also provides great social networking opportunities for parents,” he explained.
It would be recalled that MicroManna also engages in several CSR activities, with a recent example of the donation of a prize to the Most Valuable Athlete of the Faith Academy Kaduna 7th Inter-House Sports Competition, two weeks ago.
