Francis Sadhere
As the politics of Delta Central Senatorial District heats up over the forth coming bye-election, the duo of Chief Margret Unukegwo, former Commissioner for Health and Education in the then Bendel state, and Chief Major Napoleon Okobia (rtd) has endorsed OlorogunO’tegaEmerhor for the senatorial seat.
Their stands were made known during separate consultation visits paid to them by OlorogunO’tegaEmerhor on his aspiration to vie for the Delta Central Senatorial seat which the late Pius Ewherido left vacant.
Speaking, Chief Margret Unukegwo stated that Urhobos wants a representative who listens to the pains of Urhobo people, noting that someone who will speak and people will listen and follow is the person Urhobos must vote for during the senatorial bye-election of Delta Central.
She said; ‘’We must throw our weight behind someone who will not disappoint the Urhobos after assuming the senate position, so we are backing you for senate and we pray God to hear our cries so that you will be there and God will take all the Glory. Some persons, after elections, they forget so easily the masses who voted for them. We do not want such persons. Whosoever does not have the pains of Urhobos at heart and does not understand the language of Urhobo should not be voted for. I say categorically that what the Urhobos want is in you (Olorogun Emerhor). So when you get there, remember that the position is for everybody and they should be carried along’’.
Also speaking in a separate visit, Chief (Major) Napoleon Okobia (Rtd) prayed that God should hear the voice of Urhobos and the people should vote massively for Olorogu Emerhor in the forthcoming Delta Central Senatorial bye-election. He further urged him to deliver the dividends of democracy to the door steps of all the people of Delta Central when he assumes office soonest.
