Insecurity: Warri South LG boss donates vehicles to Police
As part of efforts to improve the security situation in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, Dr Micheal Tidi, the Chairman of Warri South Local Government Council on Friday, donated two Toyota Sienna Buses to the Police at ‘A’ and ‘B’ Divisions in Warri.
Presenting the vehicles at the Warri South Council Main Secretariat in Warri, Tidi expressed optimism that the buses will go a long way in the fight against insecurity in the area.
Tidi, who was flanked by Mr. Joseph Oribioye, Secretary to the Local Government, Supervisors in the Council, Warri South Council, Dr. (Mrs.) Minnie Igbrude, Head of Personnel Management, Ugborugbo Moses , Treasurer to the Local Government, and other key officers of the Council, made the presentation shortly after a security meeting held at the Council Main Secretariat.
CSP Onana Umaru, the DPO of Nigeria Police ‘B’ Division, Warri, who responded on behalf of himself and his ‘A’ Division counterpart, CSP T.Y. Mahmud, appreciated the gesture of the Dr. Tidi’s administration and assured that the vehicles, “would be judiciously used for the purpose it was meant.”
In the same vain, the Warri South Council Chief Executive, also presented a Toyota Sienna Bus to the Legislative Arm of Warri South Council, assuring of better things to come, if the revenue profile of the Local Government Council improves.
Tidi, explained that the initiative by the Executive Arm of the Council, was to engender smooth running of legislative business.
Hon. Oris Eyikimi, Deputy Leader of Warri South Legislative Arm, who received the car on behalf of Rt. (Hon). Sylvester Ijabor, Leader of Warri South Legislative Arm, described the gesture as marvelous, considering, “the global economic challenge posed by the COVID-19 pandemic
While assuring that they will put the Toyota Sienna Bus to judicious use, Ijabor, promised sustained working relationship with the Dr. Tidi administration and the Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa led Delta State Government.
