In the spirit of the Yuletide season, Hon. (Amb) Wilson Ejomafuvwe Kokarhaye (JP) has donated a cow and ten bags of rice to the people of Unit 24, Kokori Ward 06, also known as the Ibruvwe Sub Community, in Kokori, Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State. The gesture was warmly received by the community, as it provided much-needed support during the festive period.
Elders of Ibruvwe Sub Community, alongside leaders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the area, expressed their gratitude to Hon. Kokarhaye for his generosity.
They also seized the opportunity to appeal to Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, to consider Hon. Kokarhaye for a significant appointment, citing his prior experience as Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Oil and Gas to the immediate past Governor, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa.
The food items were officially received by the spokesman of the Elders Council of Ibruvwe Sub Communities, Elder Moses Umururu, the Coordinator of Unit 24 and Chairman of Ibruvwe Sub Communities, Chief Erhijivwo Johnbull, and the Chairman of Unit 24, Chief Michael Orierhi.
They all thanked Hon. Kokarhaye for his thoughtful gesture, which brought smiles to their faces during the holiday season.
In his remarks, Elder Moses Umururu, who is also the Otota of Ewurhie Street, urged Governor Oborevwori to fulfill his campaign promises, particularly in empowering women, especially widows, and youth in the community.
He highlighted that Unit 24 recorded the highest number of votes for the PDP in Ethiope East during the last elections.
Chief Erhijivwo Johnbull, the coordinator of Unit 24 and Chairman of Ibruvwe Sub Communities, also reminded the Governor of his pledge to construct Ewurhie Street Road, a promise reaffirmed by both Rt. Hon. S.A. Emeyese and Hon. Kokarhaye. Chief Johnbull echoed the call for Hon. Kokarhaye to be considered for an appointment, recognizing his previous contributions to the community.
Chief Michael Orierhi, Chairman of Unit 24, Kokori Ward 06, added his voice to the appeal, emphasizing the community’s unwavering loyalty to the PDP.
He pointed out that their strong support, as demonstrated by their resounding victory in the last election, should not go unnoticed. Orierhi urged Governor Oborevwori to address the community’s requests, stressing that fulfilling these promises would encourage the community to work even harder for the Governor’s second-term bid in 2027.
The Woman Leader of PDP Unit 24, Mrs. Queen, along with Mrs. Erhijivwo Charity, also commended Hon. Kokarhaye for his continuous support and pleaded with the Governor to recognize his contributions. They made a heartfelt request for the empowerment of widows and skilled youths in the community, advocating for initiatives that would promote wealth creation and foster development in the region.
As the community looks forward to the Governor’s response, Hon. Kokarhaye’s generous donation has not only brightened their festive season but also sparked hope for further development and empowerment in the Kokori area.
