Delta Police Arrest Two Robbery Suspects

Delta State Police Command has arrested two notorious armed robbers, one Josiah Apoi and Oghenechuko Lucky, who were operating along Olomu Street in the city of Warri, Delta State.
The arrest was made following a distress call to the B’ Division of the Police in Warri, leading to the deployment of Anti-Robbery patrol team who quickly swooped on the hoodlums and arrested them at the robbery site.
According to Delta Police Public Relations Officer, Celestina Kalu, the team promptly responded to the distress call, arrested the duo while some others escaped.
Kalu said Josiah, who was first arrested at the robbery scene, led the patrol team to the hideout of Oghenechuko where he was arrested, noting that the suspects confessed to have committed the crime.
She said upon search, two locally made pistols, live cartridge, and four mobile phones were recovered from them.
In a similar vein, the Effurun Police Division arrested hoodlums operating with Volkswagen Vento who were chasing one unidentified man who went to a bank to withdraw money.
On receipt of the information, Kalu said, the Anti-Crime patrol team who were already on stop and search duty along the road, sighted and pursued the hoodlums who abandoned their vehicle and escaped.
 The Police PRO said on searching the vehicle, a cut to size double barrel gun with thirteen live cartridges, one single barrel gun, five expended cartridges, a set of plate No. AR 237 WWR, one Volkswagen Vento car without registration number were recovered from them.    
Meanwhile, efforts are on to track down the fleeing suspects while investigation is in progress.
