Four Robbers Shot Dead By Police In Warri

The Police in Warri, Delta State yesterday gunned down four suspected armed robber alleged to have been terrorizing Warri and environs.
A dependable source close the Police told our Correspondent that Anti-Crime Patrol team from the A’Division Warri trailed the suspects after they got information of their nefarious activities.
According to the source, Police got information that the four suspects had trailed a man from one of the banks and collected the sum of One Hundred and Twenty Thousand Naira (#120,000) from him.
The source added that the Anti-Crime Patrol team engaged the suspects in a gun duel and demobilised their get away car which hit an electric pole leading to gun duel with the Police.
According to an eye witness, the four suspects allegedly opened fire on the Patrol Team before their Volkswagen car with a Lagos registration number, FKJ 385 CV, hit a street light pole at the Ekpen Bend of Ajamimogha Road, Warri.
It was gathered that the suspects had earlier robbed a woman along Cemetery road in the Oil city of her belongings including her phones before they met their Waterloo.
Our Correspondent reports that items recovered from the suspects included two locally made pistols, six catredges, two expended cartridges, two hand sets, the sum of Twenty Six Thousand Naira (#26,000) and the vehicle which they used for the robbery operation.
The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Celestina Kalu confirmed the report to our correspondent on telephone, but said she was yet to get full details.
