Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Michael Tidi, on Sunday tasked residents living the the council area to abide by the maximum of 50 persons allowed by the state government to attend marriage and burial ceremonies across the state, insisting that burial of corpses from other parts of the country must be done same day they arrive the coumcil.
According to Dr. Tidi, in a statement made available to Vanguard, restaurants, eateries and canteens operating in Warri South Local Government Area, are to operate on takeaway basis, while hotels will be allowed to open with in – room dinning only.
Recall that the Delta government had ordered the lockdown of the state with effect from April 1, 2020 as measure to tackle the spread of the global scourge.
The four weeks stay-at-home order was, however, relaxed on April 29, 2020.
The Warri South Council boss, stressed that commercial bus, taxi, boat and tricycle operators, will only be permitted to operate with highly reduced number of passengers, in line with the state government’s directive.
