Concerned Ute-Okpu Elites Commend Hon. Monday Odigwe for Developmental Strides in 100 Days

A socio-cultural organization under the umbrella of Concerned Ute-Okpu Elites has lauded the Executive Chairman of Ika North East Local Government Area, Hon. Monday Odigwe, for his exceptional developmental efforts during his first 100 days in office.

The commendation came during a special hosting event organized by Hon. Odigwe, who also serves as the Secretary of Concerned Ute-Okpu Elites, an organization established to promote the cultural and social interests of Ute-Okpu Kingdom. The event provided the group an opportunity to interact with the council chairman and assess his progress thus far.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Chairman Comrade Michael Ikeogwu expressed deep satisfaction with Hon. Odigwe’s performance, noting that the administration had not only met but exceeded expectations within its first 100 days. “We are proud of the strides made by Hon. Odigwe in such a short period,” said Ikeogwu. “His administration has shown a remarkable level of commitment towards transforming Ika North East and improving the lives of its people.”

Comrade Ikeogwu emphasized that the group remained steadfast in its support for the chairman, urging the people of Ika North East to cooperate with his administration to ensure the successful realization of its goals. “We pledge our continued support to Hon. Odigwe,” Ikeogwu affirmed, “and call on everyone in the local government to rally behind him for a prosperous future.”

In response, Hon. Monday Odigwe thanked the members of Concerned Ute-Okpu Elites for their confidence and unwavering support. He reassured them of his commitment to the development of the area, expressing his determination to leave a lasting legacy of progress. “I am grateful for your continued faith in my leadership,” said Odigwe. “I am working hard to ensure that the council is better off at the end of my tenure than it was when I assumed office.”

Hon. Odigwe highlighted several key achievements of his administration, many of which are still in progress but show significant promise. Among the initiatives outlined were enhanced support for security agencies, particularly vigilante groups, which have led to improved security and a decrease in the menace of kidnappers in the area. He also pointed to infrastructural improvements, including the repair of potholes in Boji Boji Owa and the opening of blocked drainages to ease flooding.

One of the most ambitious projects, according to Odigwe, is the construction of a new administrative complex for the local government, which is currently underway. Additionally, the building of an ultramodern motor park at Ebu Owa market in Boji Boji Owa, aimed at creating a more organized transportation system, is expected to generate revenue and improve public services. Hon. Odigwe also mentioned the ongoing clearing of roads near the railway line to enhance visibility for commuters.

The chairman concluded by thanking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members and the citizens of Ika North East for their support. He encouraged them to continue contributing ideas and suggestions that would further the development of the local government.

With his administration gaining momentum, Hon. Odigwe’s focus remains on delivering meaningful change and enhancing the quality of life for the people of Ika North East.
