APC will win in 2019 – South-South leaders
…Condemn calls for Oyegun’s removal
South-South leaders on Friday commended the courage and patriotism of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, insisting the country’s ruling party will win the next general election.
The leaders also came down hard on the suspended national deputy publicity secretary of APC, Mr. Timi Frank.
“It is sad to note that rather than addressing the cogent issues raised by Oyegun, Timi Frank chose to attack the national chairman of the ruling party for his sincere views about the chances of APC in 2019 and the defection of former vice President, Atiku Abubakar”
Chairman of South-South Front (SSF), Chief John Harry in a statement released in Asaba lambasted Timi Frank for pushing the real issues aside and employing sentiments and blackmail to explain the defection of Atiku Abubakar to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
“The people of South-South are solidly behind Chief John Odigie-Oyegun. He has distinguished himself as an honest, competent and God fearing Nigerian”
The leaders expressed surprise at the ignorance of Timi Frank about the intricacies of running a political party in Nigeria
They praised the national chairman for his adherence to internal democracy.
“Chief John Odigie-Oyegun deserves a pat on the back for saving the nation’s democracy from anti-democratic forces, steering the party in the right direction, adding value to APC by drawing upon all useful opinions and keeping up with the times as well as allowing the interests of members to guide his actions”.
The leaders urged Timi Frank and his sponsors to return to the path of good reason and Godliness.
“Nobody chased Muhammadu Buhari from ANPP. The truth which Timi Frank knows but cannot publicly admit is that the former vice president does not control the structure of the ruling party”
The leaders called on Nigerians not to be deceived by Frank’s blackmail.
“Chief Odigie-Oyegun is a strong believer in the rule of law. He is against all forms of manipulations, intimidations and imposition of candidates. Timi Frank and his sponsors are misleading the public. They don’t mean well for the country and the ruling party”
