AHEAD 2019: GROUP RALLY SUPPORT FOR OKOWA, OBORO

Gate-to-Gate, Uvwie chapter, a political pressure group has called on Deltans, people of Delta Central Senatorial District and Sapele/Okpe/Uvwie Federal Constituency to give their support for the re-election bid of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa and Hon. Evelyn Oboro respectively.
In a statement issued at the end of a meeting attended by members in Effurun signed by Mrs. Joan Onomuoborigho, Com David Jokoh and Mr. Christian Eshenake, chairperson, Public Relations Officer and Secretary respectively, the group noted that in spite of the economic down turn occasioned by lean resources, Senator Okowa has been able to execute his Smart Agenda Programme empowering Deltans as well as executing people-oriented projects across the state.
According to the group, “Hon. Oboro, the empowerment guru, first woman parliamentarian in Urhobo nation has touched lives of many, she has empowered women, men, and youths. She has performed excellently well touching lives positively in her Constituency. Senator Okowa has made remarkable giant strides in the past two years of his administration in the state and in Uvwie Local a Government Area in particular with the construction of the long neglected Ugbomro Road, rehabilitation of the Alegbo, NPA Expressway, Sokoh Estate Roads among many others.”
While commending Senator Okowa for appointing vibrant young men and women of Uvwie extraction into his administration, the group called on him to give more slots to women in the forthcoming local government elections in the state.
The group added, “Senator Okowa and Hon. Oboro have done well for the state and the Sapele/Okpe/Uvwie Federal Constituency, let’s join hands to work for them in their re-election or when seeking higher office to serve the people better. Hon. Oboro, the Great Amazon of Delta politics and Dr. Okowa, Ekwueme deserves our support for re-election, let’s rally round them, give them the much needed support to move our dear state, Delta Central Senatorial District and Sapele/Okpe/Uvwie Federal Constituency to greater heights.”
The group spoke further further, “in the light of the above, since Senator Okowa and Hon. Oboro have performed so well and delivered on their mandate so far, we hereby pass a vote of confidence on the duo just as we enjoin people of Uvwie Local Government Area, Sapele/Okpe/Uvwie Federal Constituency, Delta Central and Deltans at large to give total support to them in their bid to either seek re-election or election to higher office to enable them touch more lives with their people-oriented programmes and projects.”
Other members in attendance at the meeting were Com. Benjamin Awinoron, Director of Youth Affairs, Mrs. Rita Niemogha, Woman Leader, Mr. Matthias Dugbo, Vice Chairman,, Innocent Ebrusike, Organising Secretary, Mr. Lucky Akpojovwo among many others.
