By Eben Enasco Kingsley, Benin City
The Edo State Deputy Governor, Dr. Pius Egberanmwen Odubu has refuted a publication in the Saturday January 23, 2016 edition of Vanguard Newspaper (page 7) titled: “Plot to Impeach Edo State Deputy Governor’ Authored by a faceless group,“Let the People Lead Vanguard”.
A statement issued by Kelly Odaro, the Chief Press Secretary to the
Deputy Governor reiterated that the concocted information was the
figment of the imagination of the faceless group.
According to the statement, there is no rift between Governor Adams Oshiomhole and his Deputy, Dr. Pius Odubu to warrant impeachment.
The statement added that the publication is nothing but a red herring by those bent on driving a wedge between the Governor and his Deputy.
It added that “this faceless group and others are warned to desist from this mortifying act. If they are so convinced of what they are alleging, they should be bold enough to add their contact address, phone numbers and use their real names other than pseudonyms”.
“The Deputy Governor frowns at actions of this nature and will not
hesitate to invite security agents to investigate this matter with a
view to bringing those involved to book,” according to the statement,
saying enough is enough.
