The second edition of the Africa for Peace Sports Festival has been scheduled to kick off on November 15, 2025, in commemoration of the International Day for Tolerance.
The festival, an initiative of Ambassador (Comr.) Mulade Sheriff, Ph.D, aims to promote peace, unity, and youth engagement through sports. It will feature a wide range of sporting events, including gym competition, Scrabble, snooker, table tennis, and mini football, among others.
Chess and fuss-football will serve as demonstration games, giving participants an opportunity to showcase their talents while competing for attractive prizes.
To ensure smooth organization, former Nigeria Super Eagles midfielder, Edema Fuludu, has been appointed as Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC). Fuludu expressed gratitude to the initiator for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work closely with the team to deliver a successful and memorable event.
The mini football competition will feature two categories — Under 25–45 and 46 years and above — with strict adherence to the rules of the game.
With a ₦10 million prize pool, including consolation prizes, the Africa for Peace Sports Festival promises to be one of the most exciting community-based sporting events in Nigeria this year.
According to Ambassador Mulade, who also serves as Chairman of the Delta State Mini Football Association, the festival will provide an opportunity for the Nigeria Mini Football Association scouting delegation to identify and recruit talented players who can represent the country in upcoming international tournaments.
