The newly-formed group, Delta North Progressives, seeks to amplify the region’s political influence and ensure that the district secures its rightful place on the political stage both within the state and beyond.
In a press statement signed by the convener, Professor Leroy Edozien, the group outlined its mission to unite the district’s nine Local Government Areas and foster a more cohesive and influential political presence. “Leaders in the progressive movement must work in harmony, build cohesion, and uphold the basic tenets of democracy,” Edozien said in the statement.
The Delta North Progressives initiative is self-funded and has already begun engaging prominent individuals from the Anioma ethnic group to share its vision and rally support.
The group’s outreach efforts focus on strengthening collaboration among stakeholders, ensuring that Delta North remains a formidable force in shaping future political developments.

“The group has held brainstorming sessions and is reaching out to prominent sons and daughters of Anioma to intimate them of its objectives and secure their buy-in.
