The wife of Delta State Energy Commissioner, Mrs Brawaide Mya Safugha presenting wrappers to Hon Allan Egbegi of Ogriagbene town of Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State for widows in the  Area while the Commissioner, Barrister Newworld Safugha looks on

The wife of the Commissioner, Mrs Brawaide Mya Safugha made the presentation of the One Hundred and Fifty (150) wrappers in Warri on behalf of her husband to the leaders of Ogriagbene and Kalafiogbene towns for onward transmission to the widows in Bomadi Local Government Area of the state.

According to her, the donation of the wrappers to the widows is an annual thing by the family to bring succour to the widows at Yuletide.

She said; “We are celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ so this is a season for giving and showing love. This is a season to reach out to the less privileged. For sometimes now I have heard her Excellency stressing on the need to reach out to the less privileged in the society. So this project that myself and my husband have embarked on, we have decided that we are going to do it every year. So being that is another new year, we have decided that we are going to give these wrappers to one hundred and fifty  women who are widows in Bomadi Local Government Area.”

“We have been doing this on a yearly basis. We see the widows as part of the less privileged in our society since their husbands are no longer there to take care of them. God has blessed us and we have decided to buy these wrappers for them as a sign of appreciation to God, Mrs Safugha stated.

The wife of the Commissioner who was flanked by her husband while making the presentation implored others to reach out to the widows and other less privileged in the society.

She said;  ” As Christians we should always reach out to the less privileged in the society as directed by Jesus Christ in the book of Matthew.  Christ said we should give food to those that are hungry, water to those that are thirsty and cloth those who do not have clothes. If you are not doing this as a Christian, you should start doing it now in this 2016. We should all have the mind of Christ and do what Christ asked us to do.”

Speaking, Hon Allan Egbegi of Ogriagbene town in Bomadi Local Government Area of the state, commended the Commissioner and his wife for the gesture.

He said; ” This is a very wonderful gesture. I want to commend the Commissioner and his wife for this wonderful gesture. I want to thank them for adhering to the wonderful advice from the scriptures which says that the widows should be taken care of. According to the bible, the widows are the first people to take care of even before the less privileged in the society. So for them to be doing this it only shows that they have the mind of God. As for me, I will take these wrappers to the real widows in my community so that they could have a feeling of what the honourable Commissioner and his wife has done for them.”

On his part,  Hon Simeon Daregha, from  Ward 5, Kalafiogbene town and Special Assistant To The Governor on Political Matters said;” This is not the first time the Commissioner is doing this and each time he does a thing like this he always called my attention to it and we make sure that we give this wrappers to the real widows in the community who are really in need of help. These widows are always praying for the honourable Commissioner and you know that God hears the prayers of widows. God will continue to bless him and I  want to say that I am fully committed to this job that has been given to me to do, by ensuring that the wrappers are sent to the widows in Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State.”
