IPG, Owhelogbo celebrates Akporuno’s appointment, lauds Okowa.

A political group under the aegis of Isoko Political Group and the good people of Owhelogbo community all in Isoko North Local Government Area, has recently celebrated the appointment of Sir Dr. Patrick Akporuno as chairman Post Primary Education Board and commended the Delta State Governor, Sen Dr Ifeanyi Okowa for appointing Aporuno to head PPEB, describing it as a welcome development in right direction.
Speaking during the reception ceremony held for the new PPEB Boss in Owhelogbo town hall his hometown. The chairman of the occasion, High Chief Idu Amadhe congratulated the new PPEB chairman, saying that Isoko’s are well known to be occupants of that position since inception.
He also said that the appointment of Sir Dr Patrick Akporuno as Chairman of PPEB was a unique one based on his antecedent as a former teacher who knows the plight of the teaching profession and the irregularities in the educational sector of the state.
Chief Idu stated that, “teachers are very iportant in the society because they are molders of other profession. I implored you to change certain irregularities in the board, most especially in the aspect of teachers who always absent themselves from duties without any geniue reason. Always do the work in a way it will please the Governor and the state in general.
“I advised you to always take counsel from our retired principals in the course of your services. They have all the knowledge you need to make you excel in office. I also plead with all the permanentsecretaries to join their worth of experience with you in order to move the board forward.”
Meanwhile, Sir Dr Patrick Akporuno had earlier in a chat with newsmen thanked God for making this opportunity possible in his life. He also thanked the Governor, Sen Dr Ifeanyi Okowa for founding him worthy to appoint him to serve the good people of Delta State.
Sir Dr Akporuno therefore solicit for the support of all permanent secretaries, teachers and other members of the board in order for him to succeed in his new office. He added that “though the task ahead of him is not an easy task, but with the total commitment and support of all the board members I will succeed.”
Dignitaries present at the occasion are Hon Chief Askia Ogieh, Executive Finance Director DESOPADEC, Hon Oviemuno Oghoure, Member Representing Isoko Ethnic Nationality in DESOPADEC, Hon Sam Idisi, former Chairman Isoko North Local Government Area, PDP Elders forum Led by Chief Oju, some traditional rulers in Isoko North and other notable personalities from all nooks and crannies of Delta state.
