Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State has been commended over the donation of a 32-seater Toyota Coaster bus and an 18-seater Toyota bus to the Southern Delta University, Orerokpe Campus.
This commendation was given by Prof. Sunny Awhefeada, Vice Chancellor Southern Delta University, Ozoro in a statement issued on behalf of management, staff and students of the University, he said that the gift is a laudable gesture for education and University development.
Prof. Awhefeada said that the gift to the Orerokpe Campus of the University will go a long way to advance the welfare of staff and students of the University.
According to the Vice-Chancellor, “on behalf of management, staff and students of Southern Delta University, we express our heartfelt warm appreciation to our amiable Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for the kind intervention. This gesture reflects your administration’s commitment to the M-O-R-E Agenda, particularly in education, infrastructure and staff welfare.
“This gesture will significantly enhance mobility and operational efficiency of our great University. It will at the same time support Southern Delta University’s vision of becoming a distinctive and globally competitive institution.
“We are indeed very grateful for this kindness. It would no doubt ease a lot of logistics issues for us here. We greatly appreciate you Sir.”
The buses were presented on behalf of Rt. Hon. Oborevwori by Prof. Nyerhovwo Tonukari, Commissioner for Higher Education and received by Prof. Akpovughaye Taiga, Provost, Orerokpe Campus on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sunny Awhefeada.
