Tompolo Celebrated for Contributions to Nigeria Maritime University
Dr. Paul Bebenimibo, media consultant to High Chief Dr. Government Ekpemupolo, widely known as Tompolo, has praised the Niger Delta leader as “a man among millions” during a recent recognition ceremony at his office.
The event marked the presentation of a photo portrait and award plaque from a delegation of staff from the Nigeria Maritime University (NMU), Okerenkoko.
The award acknowledges Tompolo’s significant contributions to the maritime institution, as highlighted by the team leader, Ebike Iseru.
Dr. Bebenimibo who received the award on behalf of his Tompolo, expressed gratitude on behalf of Tompolo, emphasizing that the leader views his work as a divine mandate rather than a pursuit of recognition.
“It is heartwarming to see that the seed put in the soil is growing,” Bebenimibo stated. He noted Tompolo’s selflessness and commitment to addressing the challenges faced by others, despite the heavy burdens he carries.
Bebenimibo further discussed Tompolo’s vision for NMU, emphasizing his ambition for the institution to gain global recognition. He acknowledged the progress made at the university, countering perceptions of stagnation within the institution.
“We believe that from here, you will move higher and higher until we get to where we are going,” he encouraged the university staff.
Bebenimibo noted that the ceremony underscored the enduring impact of Tompolo’s leadership in the Niger Delta, particularly in promoting educational advancement and maritime development in the region.
