Governorship Polls: Uduaghan Cautions Electorate To Conduct Themselves in Peaceful Manner…Says Elections Not Do Or Die Affair

The Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan today called on Deltans to conduct themselves in peaceful manner during upcoming governorship and State House of Assembly elections, saying people should not take the elections as a do or die affair.
Governor Uduaghan who made this call in Warri during a press briefing at his residence said next Saturday’s election will mark a watershed in the anal of the state history, adding that he wished no Deltan comes to any harm during and after the election.
The Governor warned all those planning to cause trouble in the election to stay clear as security measures have been set in place to deal with any mischief maker.
He said the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has assured everybody that it has corrected all the lapses experienced during the last presidential election, adding that movement of material will no longer be a problem as all materials will arrive all polling units on time.
Governor Uduaghan also said that INEC has also assured Nigerians that the card readers will be used in Saturday’s elections, stressing that all the technical problems experienced with the card readers have been resolved.
The Governor also revealed that security intelligence in the state has uncovered plot by some unscrupulous politicians to deploy fake uniformed men to the state with a view to disrupting the elections.
He said security agents in the state have arrested some people in possession of fake army uniforms, adding that investigation is ongoing to uncover the people behind the act.
The governor emphasized that there is life after the election, appealing to Deltans not to lose their lives during the cause of the elections.
He therefore appealed to Deltans to cooperate with security agents and ensure that the elections is peaceful.
