GBARAMATU COMMUNITIES CHAIRMEN CALL ON EKPOKO TO BUILD BRIDGES OF PEACEFUL CO-EXISTENCE, HARMONY WITH ITSEKIRI NEIGHBOURS

Gbaramatu Communities Chairmen in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State have called on the new chairman of Itsekiri Leadership of Thought (ILOT), Chief (Barrister) Edward Ekpoko to use his position to build bridges of co-existence and harmony between Itsekiri and her neighbours, particularly Ijaws and Urhobos.
The Chairman of Kokodiagbene Community, Comrade Sheriff Mulade made the call on behalf of the Chairmen of Gbaramatu Communities while congratulating Barrister Ekpoko on his emergence as the new chairman of ILOT.
He said that; “We want to congratulate the new chairman of Itsekiri Leadership of Thought, Chief Edward Ekpoko as Elder J.O.S Ayomike stepped aside for the younger generation to take responsibility of leadership”.
He added that; “We strongly believe that the new chairman of ILOT, Chief Ekpoko is capable of piloting the affairs of respected ILOT body of Itsekiri nation and we want to call on him to see his upliftmemt as an opportunity to build sustainable relationships that will foster mutual coexistence and harmony between Itsekiri and her neighbours, particularly Ijaws and Urhobos thereby reducing situations that might be antagonistic to neighbours”.
Comrade Mulade also stated that; “Our leaders must begin to tell the true stories and histories devoid of politics to our younger generations to avoid crisis that has been hindering our development and progress”.
“We want to use this medium to commend Elder J.O.S Ayomike for stepping aside honourably and showing good leadership to the Itsekiris and our great country. That is the way it should be. We want him to still use his position as elder to educate and tell the younger generation of Itsekiri the importance of co- existence and harmony in Delta State to bring and attract the needed development”, the Kokodiagbene Community Chairman said.
